Fashion | Mini Zara Haul

IMG_1227
IMG_1242

There was a sale at Zara online...and unfortunately, I was sucked in! Thank goodness I only narrowed my picks down to 3, or else I would be super broke right now. My favorite purchase are the shoes!! I've always seen shoes like these on other blogs and it makes any outfit look instantly put together. I wish they had black ones, but these nude heels are amazing, especially since they were $30!! I might return the green tunic shirt. It makes me almost look like I'm in a fabric bag... hmmm. But I love the back embroidery. Decisions, decisions.

DIY | Easy Floral Headband

HELLO :)

Here is another super easy DIY perfect for those days when you just wanna accessorize your hair or even dress it up for a concert! I'm sure you guys have seen these all over media, but this is my easy spin on the Lana Del Rey inspired floral headband!

MATERIALS:
  • Old unwanted headband
  • scissors
  • Glue Gun
  • Fake Flowers (dollar store)

1. Lets get started! Firstly, you are going to pull the flower buds from the stem. They should easily remove off with a little tug! :)

2. Then you will cut off the excess stem sticking outside of the bud. This will prevent the flower stem from poking you when you wear it.

OPTIONAL: If the flowers you bought are a little too big for your taste, you can always remove the flower bud holding the petals together and take off some of the pedals to make the flower smaller. After you reach your desired flower size, stick the flower bud back on to hold the petals together. I did this on two of the flowers so that I could put them on each end of the flower crown to create some level in the headband.

3. Next, I recommend arranging the flowers so that you have an idea of how you want them arranged. Then you can begin hot gluing the flowers on the headband! Start from the center and work your way to each side. When you glue, make sure you are gluing the flowers tilting towards the front so that the flowers aren't pointing straight upwards when you wear it.

OPTIONAL: Here is another optional step. If you want to add a little bling to your headband, feel free to put some rhinestones! I had some extra rhinestones from an old bracelet that fell apart.

TADA!! :) You are now ready to wear it! :]

 Happy Crafting! :)

DIY | Easy Shredded Tank Top

HOLA!

Here is a super easy and quick DIY project perfect to wear on summer days and to music festivals!

MATERIALS:

  • Plain Tee (found at target)
  • Ruler
  • Duct tape
  • Scissors

Prep:
Start by cutting small and medium sized pieces of duct tape. The duct tape will allow us to tape guidelines for cutting and allow easy removal afterwards.

LETS GET STARTED:

1. Begin with using your medium sized pieces of tape to outline how you want your t-shirt to be cut out. I wanted mine to be a muscle tank so I gave myself more space from the collar of the shirt to make my straps fatter. Feel free to stick and peel the tape repeatedly until you reach your desired shape.

2. Then you will cut along the outer side of the duct tape because it is always better to cut less than more. You can always trim off more fabric if you want your straps to be smaller afterwards.

3. Then fold your shirt neatly in half and use the side you cut off as a guideline to cut the other sleeve off.

4. Your shirt should look something like this. Then, have the backside of your shirt facing up so you can begin prepping for the shredding.

5. Use the small-sized pieces of tape and a ruler to tape 1-inch measurements along the entire back of the shirt. You will want to do this on both the left and right side of the shirt.

6. Your shirt should look like this after you are done.

7. Now you can use the tape guidelines to help you eyeball the cuts across the shirt. Use your scissors and just cut the lines as best as you can. You do not need to make it look perfect. The beauty of cotton/jersey material is that once it is stretched, all your imperfections will be hidden.

8. Your shirt should look like this once it is all cut up. You can see that not all of my cuts are perfect. But don't worry, magic will happen soon!

9. Now you will use both hands to tug on the left and right side of each strip. This will curl up the strips and create a much cleaner desired look.

10. Magic* Your shirt will look something like this. All the strips now look much neater and should drape nicely! :D All you have left to do is peel off the duct tape and you will be ready to wear it!

ENJOY ! :)

DIY | Revamp Old Bracelet Stand

Before

After
MATERIALS:
  • bracelet stand
  • hot glue gun
  • scissors
  • marker
  • fabric (velvet recommended)
  • 1 piece of paper
  • studs (optional)

PREP:

The first thing you want to do is deconstruct your bracelet holder. This will make it much easier for you to wrap the fabric around the bracelet stand pieces later.

LETS GET STARTED:

1. Begin with tracing the sides of the bracelet stand on a piece of paper to create a stencil2. You will then use the stencil to trace and cut out circles in the fabric

3. Next you will cut a piece of fabric that is a little bigger than the amount needed to wrap around the bar of the bracelet stand (Don't worry about being precise, you can cut off the excess after you glue :) )

4. Then use your marker to make little marks to help guide you where to cut
5. Repeat steps 1-4 for the other bar
6. Measure enough fabric to cover the main base of the stand
7. Get your glue gun ready!!! haha :D
8. Start gluing the fabric to the pieces of the stand
9. Put a lot of hot glue in the holes of the base and stick the bars back in place
10. Add studs in the front (optional)

TIPS:
  • Always overestimate how much fabric you need when cutting your fabric pieces because falling short of a little fabric is the saddest thing :'(
  • Make sure to stick each bar back into the base of the stand before step 9. This is because when you wrap fabric around the frame, it might not fit back in the hole of the base.
  • Use mini scissors to trim off any excess fabric that sticks out to create a cleaner finished product

LASTLY... DON'T FORGET TO ENJOY YOUR NEW REVAMPED BRACELET STAND!!! :D
